24 industrial parks to be built in Bangla in the next one year
In the year 2019, to promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), two dozen industrial parks would be built in Bangla, said the State Industry and Finance Minister, Dr Amit Mitra recently at seminar organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Of the 24, 15 would be in north Bengal and nine in south Bengal. The 24 industrial parks have the potential to provide employment opportunities to more than a lakh people, he said.
Of the 15 in north Bengal, the work for setting up seven has already started. All these are coming up on land which is part of the government’s land banks. The sectors with potential are food processing, manufacturing and auto components.
The government would be spending to set up facilities for power, roads, sanitation and drinking water pipelines at these industrial parks.
