Now blockchain technology being used for preparing birth certificates in Bangla

Blockchain technology is a technology with immense potential because of its tamper-proof nature, and the Bangla Government has recognised that. It organised the two-day knowledge-sharing event, Global Blockchain Congress last week, where experts of international repute spoke on various aspects.
At the summit, the Newtown Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA), a State Government organisation that renders various civic services and amenities within Newtown, released India’s first birth certificate issued using blockchain technology.
The State Information Technology and Electronics (IT&E) Minister Dr Amit Mitra released the certificate at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, where the summit was held.
According to a senior official of the IT&E Department at the summit, once the certificate is ready, there can be no manipulation and this makes it 100 per cent secured.
The first live application in the country on project-based crowdfunding management on blockchain was created by Webel, which is under the aegis of the IT&E Department. The solution leveraged the technology to ensure that every transaction made by the donor is not only secured through the art of complex cryptography but is also completely transparent and immutable.
