Girls’ education in tea garden areas sees improvement, courtesy Kanyashree
The state of education of girls has seen significant improvement in the schools in the tea garden areas of Bangla.
State Government data shows that the number of girls in these schools, who are primarily daughters of tea garden labourers, has overtaken the number of boys.
This is the result of the Kanyashree Scheme, which is a brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Like in the rest of the State, here too, the scheme has had a lot of impact in empowering girls, and making them believe in themselves.
The monetary benefit given by the government under the scheme has been a lot help, and more so for these very poor students.
