Bangla Govt ahead in utilising information technology, said Dr Amit Mitra

The State Finance, Industry and Information Technology (IT) Minister, Dr Amit Mitra, on Thursday, December 6, said that the Bangla Government has achieved a lot of success in utilising information technology for superior governance. He was speaking at a summit dedicated to information technology.
The minister highlighted the achievements of Bangla in the areas of e-taxation, e-treasury, e-districts (in which 85 government-to-citizen services have been included in 21 districts) and e-office for the speedy clearances of government files (50 departments are using this system currently).
He further said that the State Government has created a website and an app for intimating to farmers details regarding soil quality, water level, etc.
It may be mentioned that the State Government has been holding knowledge workshops every month on emerging technologies, to ensure that digital technology is not adopted in an indiscriminate fashion. The two-day Blockchain Congress scheduled on December 18 and 19 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town will see experts from different parts of the country disseminate knowledge about blockchain, which is being seen as a technology with a lot of potential.
