Three new varieties of rice to boost Bengal’s paddy production
Scientists of the State Agriculture Department have developed three new varieties of rice, which will ensure further increase in Bengal’s paddy output. The scientists of the Department, who are posted at different research institutes, have been researching on this for some years now.
The three new varieties of rice that will be available soon in the markets are Bhupesh, Rajdip and Dhruba. The production of these varieties has already been started in some places, following necessary tests by the Department’s scientists.
The State Agriculture Department has chalked out an elaborate plan to ensure that all the three varieties are produced throughout the state. The varieties of aromatic flavour will further increase the demand for rice from Bengal.
The new varieties of rice will be cultivated across the state and is expected to increase the yield several times, thus proving beneficial for the farmers.
তিনটি নতুন ধরনের চাল আসছে বাজারে
রাজ্যের নানা গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে বহুদিনের গবেষণার ফল মিলেছে হাতেনাতে। রাজ্য কৃষি দপ্তরের গবেষকরা তিনটি নতুন ধরনের চাল আবিষ্কার করেছে, যা বাংলার ধান উৎপাদনের পরিমাণকে আরও অনেক গুন বাড়িয়ে দেবে।
যে তিন ধরনের চাল বাংলার বাজারে আসতে চলেছে, সেগুলির নাম রাখা হয়েছে, ভুপেশ, রাজদ্বীপ ও ধ্রুব। বিভিন্ন পরীক্ষা নীরিক্ষার পর এই চালগুলির উৎপাদন ইতিমধ্যেই চালু হয়ে গেছে।
তৃণমূল সরকারের নেওয়া বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপের ফলে গত কয়েক বছরে রাজ্যে খাদ্য উৎপাদন বেড়েছে অনেক গুন। কৃষকদের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়ার পাশাপাশি চাষের প্রয়োজনীয় সরঞ্জামও প্রদান করা হয় রাজ্যের তরফে।
এই নতুন ধরনের চালের উৎপাদন রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে হবে। এর ফলে, একদিকে যেমন খাদ্য উৎপাদন বাড়বে, একই সাথে উপকৃত হবেন কৃষকরাও।
