After Kanyashree, Bengal introduces Ruposhree scheme for girls
As always, the Bengal Government led by Mamata Banerjee gave priority to development and social welfare in the State Budget 2018-19. A new scheme, Ruposhree, was announced in the Budget.
As par the new Scheme, families with annual income of less than Rs 1.5 lakh per annum will get a one-time grant of Rs 25,000 to facilitate the wedding of their daughters after they attain the age of 18. The State Finance Minister allocated Rs 1,500 crore for this scheme. Six lakh families will benefit.
While introducing this scheme, Bengal Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra stated that a lot of families face hardships while arranging money for the marriage of their daughters. He said that the State wants to stand by these families.
Post Budget presentation, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that now on, the poor people of Bengal will be able to facilitate the wedding of their daughters with dignity.
কন্যাশ্রীর পর এবার মেয়েদের জন্য ‘রূপশ্রী’
২০১৮-১৯ রাজ্য বাজেটে একটি নতুন প্রকল্প চালু করার কথা ঘোষণা করেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র। প্রকল্পের নাম ‘রূপশ্রী’।
প্রকল্প ঘোষণার সময় অর্থমন্ত্রী জানান, “অনেক গরীব পরিবার মেয়ের বিবাহের খরচ জোগাড় করতে অসুবিধায় পড়েন। আমাদের সরকার সেইসব অসহায় পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে তাদের ভার লাঘব করতে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ”।
‘রূপশ্রী প্রকল্প’
যে সকল পরিবারের বার্ষিক আয় দেড় লক্ষ টাকার কম তাদের মেয়েদের ১৮ বছর বয়সের পর বিবাহ হলে আরও একাকালীন ২৫০০০ টাকা সহায়তা পাবে। এটি মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর এই স্বপ্নের প্রকল্প। প্রকল্পে বরাদ্দ অর্থের পরিমাণ ১৫০০ কোটি টাকা। এর মাধ্যমে প্রায় ৬ লক্ষ পরিবার উপকৃত হবে।
বাজেটের পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, গরীব মানুষ এবার মর্যাদার সাথে তাদের মেয়েদের বিবাহ দিতে পারবেন।
