Bengal CM flags off 5 new buses, 117 fire tenders from Nabanna
In a bid to further improve the public transport system, the state government introduced 165 more buses on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee flagged off the buses from outside Nabanna. State Fire and Emergency Services minister, along with the state Transport minister were present.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had given direction to the state Transport department during administrative review meetings in the districts to initiate bus services from different points.
165 buses will ply on 77 different routes including Nabanna to Baruipur, Kulpi to Kolkata, Jharkhali to BBD Bag via Canning, Ballykhal to Botanical Garden and Joynagar to Mograhat have been initiated. It also includes buses on different routes in North Bengal including Behrampore to Dhupguri and Cooch Behar to Haldibari.
The state government has taken several steps to improve the connectivity with tourist spots. Bus services connecting tourist spots including Bishnupur, Gadiara and Tarapith and Arambagh were flagged off as well.
From the same programme, a total of 117 fire tenders and pumps were also flagged off. It may be mentioned that in the past six years the state government has taken several steps and improved the infrastructure needed for fire fighting. Now, with 117 fire tenders getting added to the existing fleet, it will be an immense boost for the fire-fighters.
অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ও পরিবহন ব্যবস্থায় আরও জোর রাজ্য সরকারের
২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী রাজ্যের সার্বিক উন্নয়নে নজর দিয়েছেন। অন্যান্য দপ্তরগুলির মতো অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ও জরুরি পরিষেবা দপ্তরকেও ঢেলে সাজানোর পাশাপাশি পরিবহন ব্যবস্থার করা হয়েছে সামগ্রিক উন্নয়ন।
রাজ্যের অগ্নিনির্বাপণ ও জরুরি পরিষেবার সার্বিক প্রসারের লক্ষ্যে আজ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় উদ্বোধন করলেন অগ্নিনির্বাপক গাড়ি ও পাম্পসমুহের। এর পাশাপাশি পরিবহন ব্যাবস্থায় আরও গতি আনতে নতুন বাসের উদ্বোধনও করলেন তিনি।
দুপুর ১টায় সময় নবান্ন থেকে এই দুই উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। যে সমস্ত অগ্নিনির্বাপক গাড়ি ও পাম্পসমুহের উদ্বোধন হল, সেগুলি হলঃ-
৩০টি মিড সাইজ ওয়াটার টেন্ডার
৬টি ওয়াটার ক্যারিয়ার
২০টি ওয়াটার টেন্ডার (মাউন্টেড পাম্প)
১টি মাল্টিপারপাস ফোম টেন্ডার
৫০টি ইউটিলিটি ভ্যান
১০টি ট্রেলার পাম্প
২০১৭-১৮ সালে যাত্রী নিরাপত্তামূলক সিসিটিভি, জিপিএস এবং ‘প্যানিক বাটন’ ব্যবস্থা সম্বলিত যাত্রীবান্ধব ৪১১টি বাস কিনবে রাজ্য সরকার। সেই বাসগুলির প্রথম দফার ১৬৫টি বাসের আজ উদ্বোধন করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই ১৬৫টি বাস ৭৭টি বিভিন্ন রুটে চলবে, যেমন নবান্ন থেকে বারুইপুর, কুলপি থেকে কলকাতা, ঝারখালি থেকে বিবিদি বাগ ভায়া ক্যানিং, বালিখাল থেকে বোটানিক্যাল গার্ডেন, জয়নগর থেকে মগরাহাট। এছাড়া উত্তর বঙ্গেও কিছু রুটে চলবে এই বাস, বহরমপুর থেকে ধুপগুড়ি, কোচবিহার থেকে হলদিবাড়ি।
রাজ্য সরকার পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলিতে যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা বাড়াতে উদ্যোগী হয়েছেন। আজকের এই বাসগুলি কলকাতা থেকে বিষ্ণুপুর, গাদিয়াড়া ও আরামবাগের মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলির মধ্যে চলবে
