Politics of divisiveness will not be tolerated by the people of Bengal: Mamata Banerjee
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today embarked on a tour of Paschimanchal districts. Today she addressed a public meeting at Kanksa in Paschim Bardhaman district. She inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a slew of projects on the occasion.
Highlights of her speech:
A bridge over the River Ajay at Shibpur in Kanksa block will soon be completed, at a cost of Rs 164 crore. The foundation stones for the construction of two more bridges have been laid.
Eleven ambulances, called Matri Jan, were distributed for transporting pregnant women and young children to hospitals free of cost. The ambulances will contain all life-saving medicines and equipment. All across Bengal, 1,000 such ambulances are being distributed.
Agriculture and industry co-exist in Bengal. We have abolished khajna tax on agricultural land. We have provided help to farmers affected by the floods.
We have set up an airport in Andal, 6,000 micro and small enterprise units, Panagarh Industrial Park, IT Park, Deucha-Pachami coal mine project.
Projects worth Rs 2,668 crore have been taken up for controlling floods and for irrigation, as a result of which 30 lakh families will benefit.
Several steps have been taken for the welfare of Adivasis. A separate department for the Adivasis was set up by the Trinamool Congress Government in 2013.
Shikshashree Scholarship is being given to 57 lakh SC, ST and Adivasis children. The State Government is also helping Adivasi artistes.
We have distributed scholarships to 1.71 crore students belonging to minority communities. We give a loan of Rs 10 lakh for for pursuing higher education in the country and Rs 20 lakh for foreign education.
Santhali language has been given recognition through the teaching and propagation of the Ol Chiki script.
Our aim is to work for everybody. We do not differentiate on the basis of religion.
A man was burnt to death in Rajasthan. Why should this happen?
Trinamool does not follow the culture that the BJP speaks of. We do not like that culture. We will fight politically. Let others speak ill, we will not.
The Ma-Mati-Manush Government is a government for everyone. Every human being is equal to me.
We give rice at Rs 2 per kg to 8.5 crore people, electricity free of cost, scholarships, bicycles to school-going children. Our government has schemes to cover the whole lifespan of a person. We do real work for the people, not indulge in empty talk.
We have started Matrisneha Scheme at the PG Hospital in Kolkata. We have started Samabyathi and Baitarini Schemes. We have introduced a lot of social schemes. Subsidies to farmers, artistes and for jute cultivators are being give.
The Centre is taking away all our earnings in the name of servicing debts.
We provide shoes, uniforms, mid-day meal to primary school students. We are providing nutritious food to malnourished kids. This is our social responsibility.
We gave Rs 50,000 to the families of workers who lost their jobs in other States due to demonetisation. We want them to stand on their feet, even if they open a tea stall.
A lot of people from other States work in Bengal. We consider them our own. Our people will go to other places, people from other States will come to Bengal – isn’t this normal? We cannot drive others away from Bengal. We love them.
A Dalit man was killed in Gujarat because he went to a dandiya festival. They did not allow Padmavati to release. An innocent man was burned alive in Rajasthan. How long can we allow these incidents to continue?
This is the land of Rabindranath and Nazrul. We respect Ambedkar, Gandhiji, Swami Vivekananda, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. We will not allow divisive politics in Bengal. Those who indulge in divisiveness, people will teach them a lesson politically.
They cannot stand the fact that we oppose their (anti-people) policies. So they want to stop all funds to Bengal. We were affected by floods but did not receive a single penny. But Assam and Bihar (both BJP-ruled States) receives Centre assistance.
There are attempts to cause riots by spreading falsehoods and peddling lies. They kill Adivasis and Dalits but feed lies to Adivasis here. I urge you all not to believe their canards.
There was a time when Adivasis in Jangalmahal used to survive by eating ants. Now we provide rice at Rs 2/kg to them. They live with dignity now. They receive healthcare for free; we provide them dhamsa-madol, education. We have also initiated a pension scheme for kendu leaf collectors.
Kanyashree girls will show the way to the rest of the country. They are our pride. Kanyashree – the name is famous all over the world. One day, Sabuj Sathi and Sabuj Shree will also become renowned.
Our government is with the common people, the poor people, labourers, farmers. More than 12,000 farmers committed suicide in Maharashtra. We want our farmers to remain safe and sound. We provide all assistance in times of their need. They are our pride.
We have created 81 lakh jobs in the last six years. We have appointed 1 lakh civic volunteers. We have distributed 3 lakh land pattas and built 3 lakh homes. We will create more. We have created 45,000 flats for the people of Asansol. We will set up 25,000 more.
Do not pay heed to lies and slander. Some people peddle lies to besmirch our characters, to incite violence and riots. Bengal will never tolerate these conspiracies.
I am always with the people and for the people. People are our pride. My best wishes and humble thanks to all.

1শীঘ্রই কাঁকসার শিবপুরে অজয় নদীর ওপর ১৬৫ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে নতুন সেতু নির্মাণ করা হবে। এছাড়া আরও ২ টি সেতুর শিলান্যাস করা হল।
গর্ভবতী, প্রসূতি মহিলা ও বাচ্চাদের বিনাপয়সায় হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য এই জেলায় ১১ টি অ্যাম্বুলেন্স দেওয়া হচ্ছে যার নাম দেওয়া হচ্ছে ‘মাতৃ যান’। তাতে সবরকম জীবনদায়ী ওষুধও থাকবে। সমগ্র বাংলায় ১০০০ টি নতুন অ্যাম্বুলেন্স দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
শিল্প ও কৃষির সহাবস্থান বাংলায়। আমাদের সরকার কৃষিজমির খাজনা মুকুব করে দিয়েছে। বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের আমরা সবরকম সহায়তা করেছি।
অণ্ডাল বিমানবন্দর, ৬০০০ ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্পের ইউনিট, পানাগড় ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, আই টি পার্ক, দেউচা পাচামি কয়লা প্রকল্প ইত্যাদি তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রন ও সেচের কাজে উন্নয়নের জন্য ২৬৬৮ কোটি টাকার প্রকল্প নেওয়া হয়েছে, এর ফলে ৩০ লক্ষ পরিবার উপকৃত হবেন।
আদিবাসীদের উন্নয়নের জন্য একাধিক পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। ২০১৩ সালে আদিবাসী দপ্তর তৈরি করা হয়েছে। ৫৭ লক্ষ SC/ST ও আদিবাসী ছেলেমেয়েরা শিক্ষাশ্রী প্রকল্পে স্কলারশিপ পাচ্ছে। আদিবাসী শিল্পীদেরও সহায়তা করছে রাক্য সরকার।
১ কোটি ৭১ লক্ষ সংখ্যালঘু ভাইবোনেরা স্কলারশিপ পেয়েছে। এখানে উচ্চ শিক্ষার জন্য ১০ লক্ষ এবং বাইরে পড়াশোনার জন্য ২০ লক্ষ টাকা স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
অল চিকি ও সাঁওতালি ভাষাকে আমরা স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছি।
সকলের জন্য কাজ করতে হবে এটাই আমাদের লক্ষ্য। আমরা ধর্মে ধর্মে কোন ভেদাভেদ করি না। সব মানুষ আমার আপনজন।
রাজস্থানে একজনকে পুড়িয়ে মেরে ফেলা হল। কেন এটা হবে?
বিজেপি যে কালচারে কথা বলে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কালচার সেটা নয়। আমরা এই কালচার আমরা পছন্দ করি না। আমরা রাজনৈতিকভাবে লড়াই করব। অন্য কেউ খারাপ কথা বললেও আমরা বলব না।
মা-মাটি-মানুষের সরকার সকলের জন্য। আমার কাছে সব মানুষ সমান।
সাড়ে ৮ কোটি মানুষকে আমরা ২ টাকা কিলো চাল দিই, বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা, স্কলারশিপ, সাইকেল দেয় আমাদের সরকার।
স্বাস্থ্য সাথী প্রকল্প, জন্ম থেকে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত প্রকল্প করেছে আমাদের সরকার। কথায় নয় আমরা কাজে করে দেখাই।
পি জি হাসপাতালে আমরা ‘মাতৃস্নেহ’ প্রকল্প চালু করেছি। ‘সমব্যাথি’ ও ‘বৈতরনী’ প্রকল্প চালু করেছি। আমরা অনেক সামাজিক কর্মসূচি পালন করি। আমাদের সব টাকা কেটে নিওয়ে যাচ্ছে কেন্দ্র। তবুও আমরা কৃষক ভাতা, শিল্পী ভাতা, পাট্টা সহ বিভিন্ন সুবিধা দিচ্ছি। দেনায় রাজ্যটাকে বিক্রি করে সিপিএম চলে গেছে। কেন্দ্রের সরকার, পয়সা তো দেয় না, পয়সা কেড়ে নেয়।
প্রাইমারি স্কুলের বাচ্চারা জুতো পাচ্ছে, ড্রেস পাচ্ছে, মিডডে মিল পাচ্ছে, অপুষ্টিজনিত শিশুরা খাবার জিনিস পাচ্ছে, এগুলোই তো সামাজিক কর্মসূচী।
যখন নোটবন্দি করা হল, অনেক লোক বিভিন্ন রাজ্যে কাজ করত, তাদের কাজ চলে গেল। আমাদের সরকার একমাত্র সরকার, প্রত্যেক পরিবারকে ৫০০০০ টাকা করে দিয়েছি, যাতে তারা নিজের পায়ে দাঁড়াতে পারে।
আমি এখনও বলি, মোটা ভাত খাওয়াবার, মোটা কাপড় দেওয়ার ক্ষমতা আমাদের আছে। বাইরে থেকে কেউ কাজ হারিয়ে এখানে ফিরে এলে তাকে অন্তত ৫০০০০ টাকা দিয়ে ১টা চায়ের দোকান খোলানোর ক্ষমতা আমরা রাখি।
আমাদের এখানে অনেক বাইরের লোক কাজ করেন, আমরা তাদের বাইরের লোক মনে করি না, ঘরের বলে মনে করি। বাইরের ছেলেরা বাংলায় আসবে, বাংলার ছেলেরা বাইরে যাবে, এটাই তো স্বাভাবিক। বিহারের যারা এখানে থাকেন, তাদের আমরা বলতে পাড়ি না আপনারা এখান থেকে চলে যান। আমি তাদের ভালবাসি।
এক দলিত ভাই গুজরাটে গেছিল একটি সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান দেখতে, তাকে পিটিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। পদ্মাবতী সিনেমা নিয়ে একজন প্রতিবাদ করেছিল, তাকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে দেওয়া হল। রাজস্থানে একটি ছেলে অন্যায় কাজ করতে গেছিল, তাকে জীবন্ত জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়া হল। কতদিন চলবে এই জিনিস?
বাংলার মাটি রবীন্দ্রনাথের মাটি, নজরুলের মাটি। আম্বেদকর, গান্ধীজীকে, বিবেকানন্দকে, মৌলনা আবুল কালাম আজাদকে আমরা সম্মান করি। বাংলার মাটিতে ভাগাভাগির খেলা হবে না। আর কেউ করতে চাইলে, বাংলার মানুষ তাকে একদম রাজনৈতিক ভাবে তাড়িয়ে দিন।
ওরা ভাবে, বাংলা কেন আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে বলে? বাংলাকে ভাতে মারো। বন্যায় কৃষকদের জমি দুবে গেছে, আসাম, বিহারকে টাকা দিয়েছে, বাংলাকে দেয়নি।
নানা রকম, দাঙ্গা, কুৎসা, অপপ্রচার, চক্রান্ত করার চেষ্টা করা হয়। আর মিথ্যে বলা হয়। আদিবাসীদের পরিবারকে হত্যা করা হয়। দলিত পরিবারকে হত্যা করা হয়। আর এখানে আদিবাসী ভাই বোনেদের কাছে গিয়ে মিথ্যে বলা হয়। ওদের কথা একদম বিশ্বাস করবেন না। ওরা ভীষণ মিথ্যে কথা বলে, অপপ্রচার করে। টাকা নিয়ে কুৎসা করে।
আগে আদিবাসীরা পিঁপড়ে খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকত। আমি ২ টাকা কিলো চাল দেওয়া শুরু করেছি। এখন মানুষ সম্মান পায়, বিনা পয়সায় চিকিৎসা পায়, ধামসা মাদল পায়, শিক্ষা পায়, সব ব্যাপারে সাহায্য করি আমরা। যারা কেন্দু পাতা তোলে, তাদের সাহায্য করি, ৬০ বছর হয়ে গেলে পেনশন দিই।
কন্যাশ্রীর মেয়েরা আগামীদিন ভারতবর্ষকে পথ দেখাবে। এরা আমাদের গর্ব। সারা পৃথিবীর কাছে কন্যাশ্রী একটা নাম। আগামী দিন সবুজ সাথী একটা নাম হবে। সবুজশ্রীও একটা নাম হবে।
আমাদের সরকার, সাধারন মানুষের, গরীব মানুষের, খেটে খাওয়া মানুষের, ক্ষেত মজুরদের, কৃষকদের পক্ষে। মহারাষ্ট্রে ১২,৬০০ কৃষক মারা গেছে না খেতে পেয়ে। আমি চাই আমাদের কৃষকরা ভালো থাকুন, তাদের ফসল নষ্ট হলে, সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আমরা তাদের সাহায্য করি। কারো কাছে তাদের হাত পাততে না হয়, কৃষকরা আমাদের গর্ব।
গত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে ৮১ লক্ষ ছেলে মেয়েদের চাকরি দিয়েছি। এক লক্ষ সিভিক ভলেন্টিয়ার নেওয়া হয়েছে। আরও নেওয়া হবে। তিন লক্ষ লোককে পাট্টা দিয়েছে আমাদের সরকার। তিন লক্ষ লোককে বাড়ি তৈরী করে দিয়েছি। আরও অনেককে আমরা করে দেব। রানিগঞ্জের মানুষকে আমরা আবেদন করব, আমরা ৪৫০০০ ফ্ল্যাট করে দিয়েছি, আরও ২৫০০০ করব।
যদি কেউ উল্টোপাল্টা বলে মিথ্যে কথা রটায়, কুৎসা রটায়, চরিত্র হনন করে, অপপ্রচার করে, দাঙ্গা লাগায়, ভয় পাবেন না, বাংলার মাটি দাঙ্গাকে, কুৎসাকে, চক্রান্তকে, ষড়যন্ত্রকে প্রশ্রয় দেয় না।
জনগণের পক্ষে আমরা ছিলাম, আছি, থাকব। মা মাটি মানুষকে, ধন্যবাদ, জিন্দাবাদ জানাই। আপনারাই সমাজের গর্ব, সমাজের ভবিষ্যৎ।
ভালো থাকুন, সুস্থ থাকুন। বড় দিনের উৎসবের অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে যাই। নতুন ধান নিয়ে নবান্ন উৎসবে গর্ববোধ করবেন। নতুন বছরে আপনাদের ঘোরে ঘোরে মঙ্গল শঙ্খ বাজুক।
