Our slogan will be to remove Narendra Modi from power: Mamata Banerjee
Today Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee led a procession of lakhs of people on a protest march against demonetisation from College Street to Dorina Crossing in Kolkata.
At the conclusion of the march, at Dorina Crossing, she gave a speech which received a vociferous applause from the huge gathering. She said, “Every decision needs planning, instead demonetisation has been totally unplanned and done in haste”.
While referring to the rare appearances of the Prime Minister in Parliament and to his refusal to respond to the Opposition parties’ challenge to demonetisation there, she said, “Modi has made the announcement and now is nowhere to be found. And he wants to lead the country? You have become the faceless Modi babu”.
She strongly criticised the Prime Minister’s penchant to constantly lecture people on the supposed benefits of demonetisation, when it is actually causing endless pain. As she said, “The country cannot run on lectures. We need action. People are suffering. Banks and ATMs have run out of cash but the Prime Minister is giving lectures. You want people to go cashless?”
Echoing the wishes of the majority of the people around the State as well as the country, she said, “We have only one demand. Roll back this arbitrary and hasty decision and do whatever you want to do in a planned way”.
Continuing her resounding speech, Mamata Banerjee said, “Daily life has been hampered severely. This is a people’s movement, not a political movement”.
Coming down too on the disastrous timing of the announcement of demonetisation, she said, “When people received their salaries on November 8, the Centre announced its decision. What will happen in December?”
Criticising also the view held by the Central Government’s views on black money, the Chief Minister said, “The Centre thinks only they have white money, the rest of us are hoarding black money. The people are unable to withdraw their own money from their own bank accounts. They need Modi ji’s permission. In the coming days, will the people need Modi’s permission to walk on streets? Soon he will come for the people’s legitimate gold and land”.
She warned, “In a democracy like India, there is no place for a dictator like Modi”.
The people’s person that Mamata Banerjee is, she thundered, “We are ready to even lay down our lives for this cause. We will fight till the end for this political movement. The government cannot scare us through its agencies. We may die or survive. Whatever may happen, our slogan will be to remove Narendra Modi from power”.
She then thanked the people for rejecting the bandh that many parties had called, saying, “I thank the people for hitting the streets in protest but rejecting the bandh”.
She ended her speech with the slogans, “Demonetisation bandh karo”, “Note bandi vapas lo”, “Modi Sarkar hai hai”, slogans which were repeated in unison across the gathered throng of people.
আমাদের স্লোগান হবে নরেন্দ্র মোদী কে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত করাঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়
কেন্দ্রের নেওয়া নোট বাতিলের হঠকারী ও তুঘলকিসিদ্ধান্তের বিরোধিতা করতে আজ পথে নামলেন তৃণমূলনেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। নোট বাতিলের ফলে সাধারণ মানুষকে যে মুশকিলের সম্মুখীন হতে হচ্ছে তার প্রতিবাদে আজ এক মহামিছিলের নেতৃত্ব দেন দিদি। বহুসংখ্যক সাধারণ মানুষ এই মহা মিছিলে যোগ দেন। নোট বাতিলের জেরে মানুষের ভোগান্তির প্রতিবাদেই এই মিছিল।
মিছিল শুরু হয় দুপুর ১২ টায় কলেজ স্কোয়ারে এবং কলেজ স্ট্রিট, নির্মল চন্দ্র স্ট্রিট, গণেশ চন্দ্র এভিনিউ, চিত্তরঞ্জন এভিনিউ, জওহরলাল নেহেরু রোড হয়ে ডোরিনা ক্রসিংয়ে এই মিছিল শেষ হয়। এরপর মিছিল শেষে ধর্মতলায় সভাও করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ৷
এখানে তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ
- আজ হাজার হাজার মানুষ এই নোট বাতিলের প্রতিবাদে রাস্তায় নেমেছেন
- সব স্তরের মানুষ আজ এই প্রতিবাদে সামিল হয়েছেন
- কোন সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে গেলে তা পরিকল্পনা মাফিক করতে হয়
- মোদীজি একটা ঘোষণা করে দিলেন আর এখন তাঁকে খুজেই পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। আর উনি দেশ চালাবেন?
- আপনি চান সমাজ যাতে ক্যাশলেস হয় আর আপনি এখন ফেসলেস
- আমাদের শুধু একটাই চাহিদা। রোল ব্যাক একটি হঠকারী সিদ্ধান্ত, পরিকল্পনামাফিক সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া উচিত
- মানুষ চরম দুর্ভোগের শিকার। ব্যাঙ্ক, এটিএম এ টাকা নেই অথচ প্রধানমন্ত্রী ভাষণ দিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছেন
- ভাষণ দিয়ে দেশ চালানো যায় না, কাজ করতে হবে
- আজ সারা দেশ জুড়ে একটাই স্লোগান – ‘তানাশাহি নেহি চালেগা’
- বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে জনজীবন ব্যহত। এটা মানুষের লড়াই, রাজনৈতিক লড়াই নয়
- যখন ৮ নভেম্বর এই ঘোষণা হয়েছিল তখন সকলে বেতন পেয়ে গেছিলেন, কিন্তু এবার কি হবে?
- কেন্দ্র মনে করে শুধু তাদের সাদা টাকা আছে আর বাকিদের সবার কালো টাকার কারবার
- মানুষ এখন নিজের ব্যাঙ্ক অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে টাকা তুলতে পারছেন না, সেটা করার জন্যও এখন মোদী জির অনুমতি দরকার
- ভারতবর্ষের গনতন্ত্রে মোদী জির মত একনায়ক শাসকের কোন জায়গা নেই
- আগামী দিনে কি রাস্তায় চলতে গেলেও মোদীজির অনুমতি লাগবে?
- এরপর মোদীজি মানুষের নিজস্ব সোনা আর জমিগ্রাস করবেন
- আমরা এর জন্য নিজেদের জীবন দিতেও প্রস্তুত
- বনধকে সমর্থন না করে এর প্রতিবাদে রাস্তায় নামার জন্য আমি মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি
- আমরা শেষ পর্যন্ত লড়াই করে যাব। ওরা আমাদের এজেন্সি দিয়ে ভয় দেখাতে পারে না
- আমরা হয় বাঁচব, নয় মরব। আমাদের স্লোগান হবে নরেন্দ্র মোদী কে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত করা
- নোটবন্দি বন্ধ কর। মোদী সরকার হায় হায়
