Bengal to bring new law for road safety: Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna
The State Government is taking up a number of measures to step up road safety, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced today at Nabanna. She said that a committee is being formed to execute the new measures to enforce road safety. She said that new laws with respect to rash driving and related matters will be tabled in the Assembly soon.
A new law will be framed by the police and another by transport department for road safety, the Chief Minister announced. She said that like green corridors, clean corridors will also be formed for emergency situations. RTOs will also be modernised.
The Chief Minister cautioned that driving license of offenders may be cancelled if traffic rules are violated more than three times. The Government will install CCTVs and watch towers at blind spots for road safety, she said.
Drinking and driving, using mobile phones while driving cannot be allowed, the Chief Minister warned.
The Chief Minister pointed out that at many places construction materials are kept on the road. This cannot be allowed, she said. She added that more parkomats will be set up so that cars are not parked on roads unnecessarily.
Everyone must follow the traffic rules. Safe drive, save life campaign should be followed, the Chief Minister appealed.
পথ নিরাপত্তার জন্য নতুন আইন আনছে রাজ্য সরকারঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
পথ নিরাপত্তা বৃদ্ধি করতে আজ বেশ কিছু সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। নবান্নে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে একথা জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি জানান, এজন্য একটি আলাদা কমিটি গঠন করা হচ্ছে। খুব শীঘ্রই নতুন আইন প্রণয়ন করা হবে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ঘোষণা করেন, পুলিশ ও পরিবহণ দপ্তর দুটি পৃথক নতুন আইন তৈরি করবে। আপতকালিন পরিস্থিতির জন্য গ্রিন করিডরের মত ক্লিন করিডর গঠন করা হবে। সব আরটিও গুলোকে ঢেলে সাজানো হবে।
তিনি বলেন, ট্রাফিক নিয়ম তিনবার না মানলে ড্রাইভিং লাইসেন্স বাতিল করা হবে। এছাড়া, পথ নিরাপত্তার জন্য সব রাস্তায় ওয়াচ টাওয়ার ও সিসি টিভি বসানো হবে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সতর্কবার্তা, মত্ত অবস্থায় গাড়ি চালানো যাবে না এবং গাড়ি চালানোর সময় মোবাইল ফোন ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
তিনি আরও বলেন, অনেক জায়গায় রাস্তায় ইমারতী সামগ্রী ফেলে রাখা হয়, এটা বরদাস্ত করা হবে না। গাড়ি পার্কিং এর জন্য পারকোম্যাট তৈরি করা হবে যাতে কেউ রাস্তায় অযথা গাড়ি না রাখে।
প্রত্যেককে ট্রাফিক নিয়ম মেনে চলার পাশাপাশি সেফ ড্রাইভ, সেভ লাইফ অনুসরণ করার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
