Mamata Banerjee’s books generate public interest at Kolkata Book Fair
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee has released ten books at the 2016 International Kolkata Book Fair, which have become bestsellers.
The Chief Minister has so far authored 63 books, including ten in English, all of which have been bestsellers.
Her books cover a wide range of topics, from poetry (for both adults and children) to Urdu shayri to memoirs to books on the developments ushered in by her Government in West Bengal to books on quotations.

বইমেলায় প্রকাশিত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ১০টি বই
২০১৬ আন্তর্জাতিক কলকাতা বইমেলায় মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের লেখা নয়টি বই প্রকাশিত হল। ‘শিশুকথা’, ‘রোশনী’, ‘চোখের তারা’, ‘বিশ্ববাংলা (প্রথম)’, ‘নামাঞ্জলি’, ‘কন্যার চোখে কন্যাশ্রী’, ‘আমার পাহাড়’, ‘আমার জঙ্গল’, ‘সহিষ্ণুতা’, ‘কথাঞ্জলি’ (ইংরেজি অনুবাদ)। এর মধ্যে ‘রোশনী’ উর্দু ভাষায় লেখা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দ্বিতীয় বই।
রাজনীতিতে আজ সহিষ্ণুতার অভাব বড় বেশি – এই নিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর লেখা বই ‘সহিষ্ণুতা’।
জঙ্গলমহল ও পাহাড় এখন হাসছে। রক্তাক্ত অতীত মুছে দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেই জঙ্গলমহল নিয়ে ‘আমার জঙ্গল’ লিখেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। পাশাপাশি পাহাড়ের মানুষদের নিয়ে তার উপলব্ধির কথা উঠে এসেছে ‘আমার পাহাড়’ বইয়ে।
বাংলাকে বিশ্ববাংলায় রূপান্তরিত করার পথের কথাও তুলে ধরেছেন ‘বিশ্ববাংলা-তে’। তিনি লিখেছেন, “বাংলাকে তার স্বর্ণযুগে নতুন করে ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার উদ্দেশ্যেই তৈরি করলাম “বিশ্ববাংলা ব্র্যান্ড”।
রাজ্যের মেয়েদের এগিয়ে দিতে তাঁর ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ প্রকল্প এখন গোটা বিশ্বে সমাদৃত। এই কন্যাশ্রী নিয়ে লিখেছেন ‘কন্যার চোখে কন্যাশ্রী’।
