West Bengal’s Republic Day tableau once again adjudged the best
The tableau that West Bengal presented at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on January 26 has won the prize for the best tableau. It showcased bauls, the mystic minstrels from Bengal, and through them the State’s Lok Prasar Scheme, which provides monetary assistance to folk artists. The award would be handed over at a function on January 31.
This is the second time in three years that the State has bagged this award. In 2014, its tableau portraying Chhau dance of Purulia, which is a popular genre of Indian tribal martial dance, had won the top prize.
Designed by Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee herself, the tableau portrayed rural Bengal through the model of a village, including a Bishnupur temple and terracotta statues. A team of 34 bauls, led by renowned singer Soumen Biswas of Murshidabad performed on the tableau.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister congratulated the team that made the tableau: “My congratulations to the team. Delighted that I came up with the idea.”
দিল্লির দরবারে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ট্যাবলো সেরা নির্বাচিত
২৬ শে জানুয়ারি প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের কুচকাওয়াজে দিল্লির রাজপথে দেশের সব রাজ্যের ট্যাবলোগুলির মধ্যে সেরা ট্যাবলো নিরবাচিত হল পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ট্যাবলো। এবারের থিম ছিল ‘বাউল’। আগামী ৩১ শে জানুয়ারি সেরার ট্যাবলোর শিরোপা তুলে দেওয়া হবে রাজ্যের হাতে।
তিন বছরে এই নিয়ে দ্বিতীয় বার সেরা হওয়ার শিরোপা পেল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। দিল্লির রাজপথে প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের প্যারেডে ২০১৪ সালেও সেরা হয়েছিল পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ট্যাবলো। থিম ছিল পুরুলিয়ার ছৌ নাচ।
পশ্চিমবঙ্গের এবারের ট্যাবলোর ভাবনা ছিল মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের। সেইমতোই তৈরি হয়েছিল থিম এবং সেই থিমই বাজিমাত করল দিল্লির দরবারে।মুর্শিদাবাদের সেরা বাউল শিল্পী সৌমেন বিশ্বাসের নেতৃত্বে ২৪ জনের একটি প্রতিনিধি দল অংশগ্রহণ করেছে এই ট্যাবলোয়।
