WB CM to visit the landslide affected areas today

West Bengal Chief Minister reached North Bengal on Wednesday night and took updates from the local administration about the extent of the rescue works done in the landslide affected sites in Mirik, Kalimpong and other areas in Darjeeling district.
The Chief Minister will visit to the affected areas today.
Last night, the Chief Minister on reaching Siliguri said that 99% of the rescue work is complete. She said that the State administration is working round the clock to complete all procedures to hand over bodies of the victims to their families for their last rites, for which assistance is being provided by the local administration.
She also focused upon the the plains, where vast areas in Jalpaiguri District have been inundated due to sudden rise in water level in all major rivers and many people got affected. More than two thousand people have been rescued to safe place, she said.
