The Annual Survey of India's City-Systems 2014 conducted by Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship & Democracy rated few cities based on their planning and design, urban capacities and resources, transparency and accountability.
Janaagraha defines “Quality of Life to mean both quality of infrastructure and services, and quality of citizenship. Therefore City-Systems refer to factors that drive both these dimensions of Quality of Life.”
Kolkata, the City of Palaces in the Raj Days, has recently gone through a beatification drive as well as restoration drive for its heritage structures. The riverbank has been decorated aesthetically along with the parks gardens and the roads.
A huge upgradation has occurred in obtaining of amenities like world class health service, transport and other such resources under the Trinamool Congress government.
