Ma, Mati, Manush Government publishes list of achievements made in 90 days

Kolkata, August 24: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tabled a book in the Assembly containing the Ma, Mati, Manush government`s achievements in 90 days. The book is titled Sarkar-er Nobboi Din (The government’s 90 days).

The book lists, among others, the tripartite agreement on Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), the package announced for the people in Maoist affected Junglemahal, Singur land issue and creating `massive` employment opportunities, as the government's achievements.

With the agreement on GTA and packages for Junglemahal, her government was able to ensure peace in both the hills and Junglemahal, Banerjee said.

In only 90 days, the government was also able to create around 80,000 employment opportunities, she said, adding the target for the first year was about 2.31 lakh job creations and in five years 10 lakh jobs.

In Singur, the Ma, Mati, Manush government was able to take back the possession of land, occupied by Tata Motors. The matter is now in court and once it is settled, the government would go ahead with the future course of action, Banerjee said.

The booklet also lists some of the schemes and projects launched during Left rule, like restructuring of under-performing PSUs, e-governance and utilization of rural employment guarantee funds, which probably explains the volume’s thickness.
