Shilpa Sathi to facilitate investors in Bengal
The success of Bengal Beckons in Mumbai has been outstandingly matched by the State Industry Department, ably guided by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The State Industry Department has also launched a new Industry Policy for getting investments and generating employment.
The State Industry Department had come up with the novel idea of Shilpa Sathi, a single window system for investors where an investor can submit a Common Application Form in the Single Window Cell at WBIDC.
Initially, in Phase-I, the facility of Shilpa Sathi will be available to investors, who want to set up medium and large industries in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, South24-Parganas and North 24-Parganas districts. Shilpa Sathi will assist investors to apply in Common Application Form (CAF), to obtain licenses and registration from relevant important State Government departments from a single place, which are listed below :

For the above purpose, a Single Window Cell (SWC) has started functioning at the Ground Floor, “Protiti“, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (WBIDC), 23, Abanindranath Thakur Sarani (Camac Street), Kolkata -700 017.
In Phase-II. the investor will be able to submit the Common Application Form on-line in the Shilpa Sathi and get all licenses and registrations on- line. An on-line tracking system of status of the on-line application is also being made available in the G2B portal developed for the purpose with IT infrastructure in the State Data Centre.
In Phase-III, the State Shilpa Sathi will migrate to the eBiz, the Single Window Facility being developed by Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, which aims to cover all Central and State government departments which issue licenses and registrations required for setting up an industry in India.
Keeping up with the industrial surge, Shri Partha Chatterjee, Hon`ble Minister in Charge of C&I and IT&E Department in a recent event handed over land and module allotment letters to companies in different Industrial Parks developed by WBIDC on 03.09.2013.
A total of 10(ten) allotment letters were handed over to the companies as detailed below-

Jayshree Tea & Industries Ltd – 23 Acres land at Panagarh Industrial Park, Panagarh
Amvay Plastform 2.5 Acres land at Vidyasagar Industrial Park, Kharagpur
Shalimar Pellet Feeds Ltd 5 Acres land at Vidyasagar Industrial Park, Kharagpur
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) 100 Acres land at Raghunathpur Steel & Allied Industrial Park
DITE, Govt. of West Bengal 70 Acres land at Rishi Bankim Industrial Park, Naihati
Malu Electrodes Pvt Ltd 2 Acres land at Rishi Bankim Industrial Park, Naihati
Murliwala Agrotech Pvt Ltd 1 Acre land at Rishi Bankim Industrial Park, Naihati
Vedant Fashions Pvt Ltd 32,548 sq.ft land at Paridhan – The Garment Park

Total land area allotted was 278.5 acres with a proposed investment of Rs.1083.31 crore and proposed employment of 7378 persons and total module area allotted was 38,241 sq.ft. with proposed investment of Rs.18.08 crore and proposed employment of 90 persons.
