Representatives of various nations pledge support to Biswa Banga Sammelan
The Consul Generals and High Commissionersfrom Singapore, France, USA, UK and other countries held a meeting with the West Bengal Chief Minister on Thursday to discuss about Biswa Banga Sammelan. Representatives from the consulates of all foreign countries praisedthe government.
West Bengal government will also organise aglobal summit of investors in Kolkata on 7-8 January, 2015. Discussions wereheld today at Nabanna for the event in which consulates of at least 52countries participated.
Business Synergy Centre
The Business Synergy Centre at Kolkata was inaugurated today by West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee, with the purpose of promoting Bengal as an investment destination.
This is the outcome of the Singapore trip; the first Synergy centre is between Bengal and Singapore. The Bengal-Singapore Synergy Centre will be operating from the office of WBIDC.

Germany: We are impressed by the movement started by the Chief Minister. Wewill try our best to support the BiswaBanga Sammelan. We can provide support in knowledge and skill development,in every kind of environmental protection. The main message from us is theslogan Biswa Banga Sammelan. It willgo out on the roads today.
France: WestBengal has huge potential. France will be there to promote Bengal.
UnitedKingdom: BiswaBanga Sammelan is a fabulous opportunity to showcase Bengal in theinvestor's interest. UK will have its presence in it.
USA: United States recognizes this excellent initiative. We will besupporting this event with all our resources that we can.
Italy: West Bengal and Italy have a very strong collaboration. I believethis kind of event will attract the attention of West Bengal in the Westernworld.
Israel: All the Honorary Consuls were here today. We all will try to presentthe best of West Bengal.
Malaysia:This meeting itself will send a positive signal about Bengal to the world.
CzechRepublic: A business delegation from Czech Republicwill visit the state in November. They will interact with the government forbusiness opportunities.
Norway:The interactive session was excellent. Theinteraction of the CM with consul generals and investors was positive.
Industrialist Harsh Neotia said, “I am overwhelmed by the excitement and interestshown by various consulates for the BiswaBanga Sammelan.”
“This is a one of a kind initiative takenby the WB government. I have never seen this in any other State,” said arepresentative of TCS at Nabanna.
“It has been proved that West Bengal meansbusiness. Bengal has set up a one-point contact with Malaysia for investment,”said Sanjay Budhia.
