State Govt devices plan to bolster security of its websites

The State Information Technology and Electronics (IT&E) Department has decided to conduct a comprehensive audit of State Government websites to secure them from cyberattacks to the maximum extent.
This was announced by the additional chief secretary, IT&E Department, at recent symposium organised by a non-profit platform dedicated to cybersecurity.
For conducting the audit, the department enlisted some certified auditing firms. These auditing companies will educate the developers of the websites on the preventive measures that should be taken to make the websites safer and secure from cyberattacks.
The IT&E Department has already issued an advisory to all the government departments to switch over to Internet Protocol Version (IPV) 6 from IPV 4 to enhance data security and at the same time, make it easier for the police to detect fraudsters.
