Transgender Development Board offices in districts soon
The State Government will open Transgender Development Board offices in the districts soon.
This was informed by the Minister of State for Woman Development and Social Welfare Department recently, during the function held to inaugurate the new office of the Transgender Board at Salt Lake, Kolkata.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has addressed the issues of transgender people time and again, and it was on her proposal that the board for their welfare and development was set up.
The minister said that several transgender persons have to travel all the way to Kolkata in order to get in touch with the board to raise their problems. Starting transgender board offices in the districts will put an end to that problem.
