First logistics hub in eastern India to be set up Bangla

The first logistics hub in eastern India would be set up in Bangla, said the State Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra at the two-day-long business-to-tourism sessions organised by the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations.
The total trade transaction conducted between India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan amounts to $US1,000 crore annually. This should be increased to $US1,500 crore annually in the next three years, said Dr Mitra at the conclave through video conferencing.
He said that Bangla is well on its way to becoming the place for a major logistics hub in the country. Flipkart has already created a detailed project report for its logistics hub in Kalyani, where 10,000 youth would get jobs.
